Britain's Best Breakfast 2015
On Friday 9th October, Crossroads Care Sir Gâr held a “Britain’s Best Breakfast” event.
“Britain’s Best Breakfast” is the national fundraising campaign of Carer Trust to raise money to support more unpaid carers and to give them a break from their caring role.
This was the first time that we organised this event. It was held in Llanelly House between 9:30am and 11am.
Many people from the local community, including members of Llanelli Town and Llanelli Rural Council attended and were all served with a freshly cooked Welsh breakfast! A donation from Llangennech Council was kindly received.
Crossroads Care Sir Gâr would like to thank all the staff who attended and raised money and would like to extend their gratitude to Llanelly House for hosting the breakfast.
Due to the success this year, it is highly likely that we will be organising another “Britain’s Best Breakfast” in 2016!
In total over £200 was raised
Pen Y Fan
Before climbing Pen Y Fan Mountain, Julie Rumbelow and Kaz Jefferies had to follow a rigorous training programme. Kaz had set herself a personal challenge of climbing Pen Y Fan and Julie was kind enough to keep Kaz company on her climb.
They decided to climb Pen Y Fan Mountain for two reasons. The first reason was to prepare them for next year (2015) when they will be climbing Mount Snowdon. The second reason was to raise money for the Crossroads Care Sir Gâr Children’s Christmas Party Fund. So far over £630 has been raised and there are still some donations to come in.
Julie said “it was harder than we thought, but we are so glad that we did it. Our muscles were aching the next day though!”
Julie and Kaz are inviting anyone to climb Mount Snowdon with them. If you are interested, please let either Julie or Kaz know.
